Scammers count on you acting fast. A few simple rules stop most of them.
Fixila never cold-calls about computer problems.
We'll never call you out of the blue to say something is wrong with your computer.
Real companies never ask for gift cards.
Not the IRS, not Medicare, not your bank, not Microsoft. A request for gift cards, wire transfers or cryptocurrency is a scam.
Pop-ups that say your computer is infected are fake.
Don't call the number on the screen. Close the browser, or turn the computer off and call us.
A family emergency call might not be family.
Voices can now be copied with AI. Hang up and call the person back on the number you already have, or use a family code word.
Don't trust links in surprise texts and emails.
Open the app or type the website yourself instead of tapping the link.

Helping a parent from a distance?
We can visit your parent at home, help them by phone or remote session, and update you on what we found, but only when your parent agrees. A Fixila Care plan gives them someone to call whenever something acts up.

Yes. We go at your pace, explain each step, and write things down if that helps. There are no silly questions.
Can a family member join?
Of course. A son, daughter or friend is welcome at the visit, or on the phone.
Will you try to sell me something?
No. We recommend only what fixes your problem, explain the cost first, and you decide.
How do I know it's really you calling?
